About Our Class

Welcome to a new year at Westmont Elementary School! I am excited to get to know you and your child this school year. First grade is a year to explore and introduce the building blocks of math and reading. We will learn to sound out words and develop a LOVE for reading. We will learn to count, read, and write whole numbers exceeding 100 and so much more! 1st grade will be a year to remember!

About me

Hi! My name is Amber Quattlebaum. I am so excited to be your 1st grade teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This will be my 13th year teaching. I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade. 1st grade is my favorite! I am excited to make this the best school year yet!

Education

In 2009, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. In 2011, I earned my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Augusta University.
