Mrs. Kirkland
Hi everyone, I am excited to get to play an important role in your students' life this year. Here are a few facts about me.
I obtained my Bachelors in Middle Grades Education from Augusta University in 2018 , a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia Southern University in 2021, and a Specialist in Teacher Leadership from Georgia College and State University in 2023. I received a Tier 1 Leadership Certification from University of West Georgia in 2024.
I am certified to teach Middle Grades Math and Science.
I am married and have two daughters, Kelseigh and Kamrynn.
My favorite color is red, my favorite candy is Reese's Buttercups and KitKats, and my favorite soda is Pepsi.
I have taught 6th, 7th, & 8th grades.
I cannot see a thing without glasses or contacts.
I'm a student too! I am currently working on another degree. So, I understand your perspectives as a student.
My favorite t.v. show is Grey's Anatomy.

Teaching Philosophy
My sole purpose of becoming a teacher was to make a positive impact in a child's life. I am challenged with teaching them math and science, however, if given the opportunity to teach them a life lesson, I will take full advantage of it. I want my students to not only remember me as the teacher that taught them math or science, but as the teacher that taught them something that stuck with them throughout their lifetime. My classroom will be warm, inviting, engaging, and safe for all students. We will learn new things together, explore new ideas, and build each other up. I look forward to teaching my students this year.
