Hint: Remind your child to describe what it looks like, sounds like, or feels like
2. Planning the 1–2 Big Events
Hint: Keep the story focused on one short scene rather than trying to tell a story about an entire thing
3. Dialogue and Descriptive Details
Hint: Encourage sensory details (taste, sight, motion) and exact character words in quotation marks.
4. Transition Words
Hint: Look for words that keep the timeline clear: First, suddenly, after that, finally.
5. Clear Closing
Hint: The ending should wrap up how the narrator feels after the event.
