Meet Miss Leonard

My name is Elaina Leonard and I am so excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher. I have been teaching for 11 years and I absolutely love it! I have taught fourth grade, second grade, and kindergarten... and I must admit, I have a heart for these littles!!! I LOVE to watch kindergartners learn and explore! The growth that is made during a child's kindergarten year, both academically and personally, is the most rewarding and heartwarming thing-- I can't wait to experience that with your child this year!

A little about myself: I was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia and went to Columbia County schools from kindergarten to 12th grade! I attended Augusta State University, where I obtained my bachelor degree in Early Childhood, my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and my Specialist degree in Advanced Studies in Education! I also have my gifted endorsement. 

When I am not teaching, I love spending time on the farm. I am a volunteer and board member at Cooper Ridge Farm in Appling, GA. I also enjoy playing with my sweet furbaby, Honey (a 6 year old Havanese). I love spending quality time with family and friends! Last April, I got engaged to my now fiancé, Daniel, and we are getting married October 11th this year!! I will become Mrs. Elmore this school year. <3

P.S.- I know that this year may come with some challenges and many new learning experiences for us all, but please know that I am up for the challenge and willing to learn and grow with you and your child! I may not always have the answers, but I will always go the extra mile to help you, and TOGETHER, we will figure this thing out! :)
