My name is Merritt King. I've been teaching high school science since 2001. My favorite classes to teach are biology and chemistry but I'm certified to teach all high school science classes offered in Georgia.

I graduated from Texas Tech University in 2001 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Management. I graduated in 2005 with a Masters in Education degree. I'm certified to teach Gifted students, AP Biology and AP Chemistry.

As a proud alumnus, I love all things Texas Tech! An embarrassing amount of my free time is spent supporting my favorite English Premier League soccer team: Manchester City! Other than that, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and my dog, Teagan. Some of my other favorite things include elephants, llamas, capybara and the New York Times games.

One core belief drives my teaching philosophy: all students can be successful if they have an open mind and a willing heart!
