Syllabus 

Class Description 

The objective of the English Language Arts program is to enable students to become readers, writers, listeners, speakers and interpreters of meaning. The middle school ELA course is designed to give all students an understanding of the standards, evidenced by narrative writing, response to literature, informational writing, and persuasive writing. Students will demonstrate their abilities in a variety of ways including tests, quizzes, essays, projects and daily assignments. This course will prepare the students for the End of Grade test in ELA that will be aligned with the Georgia Standards.

Cheating and/or plagiarism will not be tolerated and will result in an automatic grade of zero. This includes copying homework, classwork, test answers, talking during a test or quiz, allowing someone to copy your work, and trying to pass off someone else’s work as your own. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO MAKE UP AN ASSIGNMENT IF CAUGHT CHEATING OR PLAGIRISING.
