Welcome to Second Grade
My name is Jennifer Ware Contant. I graduated from Evans High School and Augusta University. I began teaching in 1999 and have taught kindergarten, second, third, and fourth grades over the years. Second is definitely my favorite! I have two amazing children of my own at home. We stay busy by playing sports, going to church events, and hanging out with our family and friends
My name is Katie Stewart. I graduated from Westside High School and Augusta State University. I did my student teaching at LES in the same classroom that I’m teaching in now. I began teaching 7 years ago at Lewiston and have loved it ever since. I have taught first, fourth and second grade. Second grade is by far my favorite age to teach. My husband and I are expecting our first child late November and we are thrilled! I love anything to do with the ocean, water, or pools. I love anything with a monogram, I am southern girl born and raised. I’m excited for another great year at LES!
Hi! I am Mrs. Desai and I am originally from India. I have been in the U.S. since 1984 on and off. I am so happy to be your 2nd grade teacher this year! This is my 17th year teaching and I have been at Lewiston since it opened. My husband and I have been married for 16 years! We are pet parents to a dog named Simba and cat named Pia. Simba is my heart and love him to pieces. The cat, not so much! ;) We love, love, love traveling, both nationally and internationally. My favorite trips have been the safari in Kenya and climbing up to the Skylodge in Peru. Anyway, we are going to learn so much and have an awesome time in 2nd grade this year!
Anna Leigh Smith
My name is Anna Leigh Smith and I am so excited about this school year! Although this is my 8th year teaching, it is my first year here at Lewiston. I am beyond thrilled to be a part of such a great school and team! Before this year, I have taught in Richmond County, Mcduffie County, and Athens, Ga. I look forward to being back in the county I grew up in, Columbia County! I graduated from the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!) and I went on to get my Masters in Education at Augusta University. I love Georgia Football, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends. I have been passionate about education as long as I can remember and I am looking forward to the best year yet!
