Scholarships are a great way to help finance a college education because they are essentially free money
students can use to pay tuition, purchase books and supplies, and help with room and board.
Here are a few tips to help get you started:
Contact the FINANCIAL AID OFFICE of the school where you apply for admission.
Conduct scholarship searches online at sites such as Fastweb, GaFutures, and others to access applications for scholarships, grants and loans as well as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Check the eligibility criteria and deadlines before you apply for the scholarship.
Check the HOPE scholarship, HOPE provides money to outstanding Georgia students who plan to attend college in Georgia.

College Board Scholarship Search
1795 Scholarship - The 1795 Scholarship awards eligible USC Beaufort students with a $1,000 per semester scholarship to be applied to Beaufort Campus Housing. There is also an "Out-of-State Tuition Waiver" opportunity offered by USCB which may be of interest.
Alex Newton Scholarship - This renewable, $500 per semester scholarship is available for any graduating high school senior that pursues a STEM-related field at Augusta Technical College and is a resident of Burke, Columbia, McDuffie, Richmond, or Warren county. The applicant shall enroll as a full-time student at Augusta Technical College in order to be eligible.

Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship - The Alpha Epsilon chapter awards a $1,000.00 scholarship to a high school senior with at least a 3.0GPA. The scholarship is awarded in May at the Alpha Epsilon chapter meeting.

Augusta Sports Council GAMES Scholarship - The GAMES Scholarship began in 2011 as part of the Augusta Sports Council’s annual G.A.M.E.S. Awards which was an annual program created to highlight outstanding amateur athletes who represented a broad spectrum of sports disciplines in the area. To date, the Augusta Sports Council has awarded over $48,000 in college scholarships to 38 graduating high school student athletes in the Augusta community.

Blake Hadden Memorial Scholarship - The scholarship, established by The Cricket Foundation, was created to assist in fostering and promoting higher education through the funding and distribution of scholarships for student athletes who excel both academically and in their athletic performances.

Buddy Hendry Criminal Justice Scholarship - The Robert L. “Buddy” Hendry Criminal Justice Scholarship is given annually in Buddy’s memory to honor his commitment to faith, family, and service to others. In keeping with this goal, applications are accepted for one-time $1000.00 scholarships to be used toward full-time post-secondary education at an accredited college or university. The Criminal Justice scholarships are open to high school seniors having at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) or equivalent, and who are pursuing an education, majoring in Criminal Justice, law enforcement, or similar field. The award must be applied to full-time schooling, with a declared major in Criminal Justice or law enforcement pathway, starting the fall of that same calendar year. Winners will be notified by mail.

Carrie L. Williams Pink Scholarship - The Carrie L. Williams Pink Scholarship aims to offer aid in dealing with the financial burden that college can bring. Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness Essay Contest Scholarship - Students, check out this awesome scholarship essay contest for local juniors and seniors! High school juniors and seniors in Aiken, Allendale, Barnwell, Burke, Columbia, Edgefield and Richmond County schools are eligible to submit entries. The winning student(s) will receive a $1,000 scholarship with an additional award of $500 to a set of second place finishers. CNTA is a grassroots organization comprised of individuals, families and businesses dedicated to raising the level of awareness of nuclear technologies. Over the course of the essay scholarship program, CNTA has awarded over $75,000 to deserving students. The deadline is February 28, 2022.

College Board BigFuture Scholarship - College Board BigFuture Scholarships--Earn entries in monthly drawings for $500 and $40,000 scholarships by completing steps to plan for life after high school. Every month, BigFuture will award hundreds of $500 scholarships and two $40,000 scholarships until February of your senior year. The scholarships awarded by BigFuture can be used at two and four year institutions.
Columbia County Democratic Party Scholarship- The Columbia County Democratic Party Scholarship Application is open for seniors who reside in Columbia County. This is a $500 scholarship, and students must have at least a 3.0 gpa.
Columbia County Exchange Club (ACE) Scholarship - The A.C.E. (Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) Award recognizes high school students who have had to overcome great physical, emotional, or social obstacles and is now eligible for high school graduation. The Exchange Club of Columbia County is pleased to be able to offer this award and a check for $2,000 again this year to the student who best represents the mission of the A.C.E. Award.
Columbia County Exchange Club CTAE Scholarship - Our scholarship will be awarded to the student who best articulates the mission of Exchange. Please include a letter of no more than 500 words that outlines your personal thoughts of the below mission and its importance in our community.
Columbia County Foundation for Children Scholarships - Columbia County Foundation for Children (CCFC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit which awards need-based educational scholarships to qualified applicants, up to age 22, for academic or technical training beyond high school. Scholarship funds are made possible by income earned from sales at the resource center as well as contributions from local businesses and community leaders. Scholarships are awarded based on an applicant's demonstrated financial need, career goals, written recommendation, personal statements, and personal interview. Scholarships are renewable as long as applicant remains eligible.

Configure One Scholarship - At Configure One, we are proud to offer a scholarship program for students in the process of pursuing a college degree in the areas of mathematics, engineering, or science. The awarded student will receive $1,000 to be used towards expenses for his or her degree.

CSRA Community Foundation Scholarships
There is nothing quite so important as an education, and we are proud to organize and administer scholarship programs for deserving students from throughout our six-county area.
Our donors believe in the power of education and have chosen to make a difference by helping deserving students pursue their dreams of higher education. We have multiple scholarship funds established by donors so youth across our region can improve their lives and ultimately our community by continuing their education.
Most of the scholarships managed by the Community Foundation are available for students who will graduate from high school in the spring of the current year and plan to continue their education in the fall, and we will welcome and consider all applications.
Davidson College Belk Scholarship

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority - Louise A. Rice Scholarship
The Louise A. Rice Scholarship Application from the Greater Columbia County Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is now open! The deadline is February 11, 2022. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, international public service sorority compromised of more than 200,000 predominately African-American, college educated women. Since its founding in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has established itself as an organization that strives to confront the problems, primarily of African Americans, thereby benefiting the global community. A wide range of programs addressing education, health, international development, and the strengthening of the community have emerged and evolved over the years. Encouraging young women to achieve excellence through higher education is a primary focus of our organization and local chapter. Dreams to Kings and Queens Scholarship
This scholarship is open to Class of 2022 high school seniors planning to attend college this Fall. There will be two winners (1 boy, 1 girl). Each winner will receive $1,000.
This scholarship contest will not require any writing, but will require students to use their creativity and make a video answering one of the questions below:

Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship
Each year, we award $750 in scholarships to high-achieving, high school students who have been affected in some way by the increasing prevalence of mental health challenges.
Elks National Foundation - Most Valuable Student Scholarship
The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the competition.
Male and female students compete separately.
Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university.
The Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation will announce the 500 national winners in late April. (Many local Lodges, districts and state Elks associations award their own scholarships through this program. These scholarships are not to be confused with the 500 Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarships.)
The 20 top finalists will participate in an all expenses paid Leadership Weekend in Chicago during which they’ll interview with the national judges. These 20 finalists will be vying for two first-place awards of $50,000; two second-place awards of $40,000; and two third-place awards of $30,000. The remaining 14 finalists will receive awards of $20,000. The 480 runners-up will receive fifth-place scholarships of $4,000.

The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc., continues to provide scholarships to deserving Georgia college students majoring in any garden-related subject in an accredited college or university in Georgia. Work Scholarships are also awarded to students for a designated number of hours to be worked at a public botanical garden.
The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors. Starting in 2018, the scholarship will be awarded to 300 top student leaders each year with the intent of promoting their academic excellence through college graduation, and providing them the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Gateway Battalion Army ROTC Scholarship
Our battalion is comprised of nine schools within the St. Louis area. The schools within our battalion allow our students to achieve their college goals whether it be academically, athletically, or in the military. Washington University in St. Louis is a top 20 university in the nation, Saint Louis University has one of the top nursing programs in the nation and Lindenwood University has a DII athletic program for those students interested in pursuing athletics throughout college. Not only can the schools in our battalion help your students reach academic and athletic success, but the Gateway Battalion was recently ranked number 2 out of 270 ROTC programs across the nation. If your students want to achieve high success in whatever area they are looking to pursue the Gateway Battalion is the best place for your students. We encourage you to have your students take a look at the universities within our battalion.

GE Reagan Foundation Scholarship--Demonstrate the attributes of leadership, integrity, drive, and citizenship within their communities and school. The award amount is $10,000. Minimum GPA 3.0.

Georgia United Foundation College Scholarship Competition
Applicants are in competition for one of six scholarship opportunities:
$10,000 for the Vernon E. Carne Scholarship in honor of our credit union’s founder, Vernon E. Carne.
$5,000 for the Geraldine Tilson Scholarship in honor and memory of Georgia United’s first female board chair, Geraldine Tilson.
$5,000 for the Polly Hinde Scholarship in honor of one of the original 1959 members, who served on the board from 1963-2007, Polly Hinde.
$5,000 for the Dorothy Dusenberry Pirkle Scholarship in honor of our long-time board secretary, Dorothy Dusenberry Pirkle.
$2,500 for the Monsignor Stephen Churchwell Scholarship in honor and memory of our board member who passed while active on the board in 2018.

GAAR Scholarship 2021-2022

HSF awards more than $30 million in Scholarships annually and, depending upon available funds, HSF Scholars may also be eligible to receive a scholarship, which range from $500-$5,000 and awarded directly to students

InspirASIAN Scholarship Program
InspirASIAN makes a difference in our community by supporting graduating high school seniors with their college education through our scholarship awards. InspirASIAN awards national scholarships to students residing in any state with a participating local InspirASIAN chapter. All students who apply will be considered for the national scholarships awards. This scholarship is open to students of all nationalities. Students who are not awarded national scholarships will be considered for state scholarships if offered by local InspirASIAN chapters. Deadline is January 31st!
IntelliGenesis Women Supporting Women STEM Scholarship
Angie Lienert, the founder of a women-owned company IntelliGenesis CEO, wants to promote and encourage other women to take risks, challenge themselves, and support each other. This scholarship is a way to provide higher education opportunities and influence growth in STEM fields. This $1500 scholarship is awarded each year to scholars in the state of Georgia. This application form is due by April 15, 2022.

John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest Scholarship
The John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest for High School Students is officially open! We’re now accepting submissions from high school students for this year’s contest. Leukemia Lymphoma Society Student of the Year Campaign/Scholarship
The Students of the Year Campaign is an eight-week initiative in which nominated High School students participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Georgia Chapter. Nominated students are selected as Student of the Year candidates via a committee. Selection is based upon an application submitted by each interested student. Candidates will raise money in honor of a youth patient hero who is currently battling or is in remission from a blood cancer. The candidate who raises the most money at the end of the eight weeks is named Student(s) of the Year. The Student of the Year will receive a $2,500 scholarship to a college or university of his/her choice. In addition, one candidate team will be awarded a Citizenship Award. The Citizenship Award winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship to a college or university of his/her choice.

The NSDAR awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of degrees in diverse disciplines including history, law, nursing, and education.
The DAR Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to qualified applicants regardless of race, religion or sex. All applicants must be United States citizens. All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be for consecutive years of attendance at an accredited college or university in the United States. The only exception is the American Indian Scholarship that is available for students pursuing vocational training.

Society of Women Engineers (CSRA) Scholarship
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Central Savannah River Area Section (CSRA) is proud to announce the 2020 and 2021 Scholarship Programs. This is the 10th year SWE CSRA is awarding scholarships in the CSRA. We encourage young women in their senior year of high school in 2021, who plan to major in engineering, math or science OR a 2020 graduate to apply for a scholarship. Since 2011, SWE CSRA has awarded scholarships totaling over $9,000 due to the generous donations of sponsors. In 2021, SWE CSRA expects to award at least two scholarships (1 for a 2021 high school graduate and 1 for a 2020 high school graduate).

The USDA/1890 National Scholars Program seeks to increase the number of minorities studying agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, and related disciplines.
The USDA 1994 Tribal Scholars Program seeks to increase the number of American Indian and Alaska Native students studying agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, and related disciplines.
Both programs provide full tuition, employment, employee benefits, fees, books, and room and board each year for up to 4 years to selected students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, food science, natural resource science, or a related academic discipline at one of designated 1890 and 1994 land-grant universities. The scholarship may be renewed each year, contingent upon satisfactory academic performance and normal progress toward the bachelor’s degree.
