Geometry Support - The Co‑Requisite Geometry Support course helps students strengthen the algebraic, geometric, and spatial reasoning skills needed for success in Geometry and future math courses. Students receive targeted support as they work with concepts from geometry, trigonometry, algebra, probability, and statistics. The course is designed to meet diverse learner needs by providing scaffolds, guided practice, and individualized support. Taken alongside Geometry: Concepts and Connections, this course is available to any student who would benefit from additional help.
This course is awarded elective mathematics credit.
1. Pencils, colored pencils, markers or pens
2. Folder
3. A calculator will be provided for you when in class
STUDENTS SHOULD:
Be aware of upcoming deadlines and assessment dates for their Geometry class as they are posted and updated frequently on the Daily Slides.
Check your grades frequently and address grade concerns in a timely manner
Self-advocate, meaning that you will seek additional support when needed
Seek out opportunities to remediate and reassess as evidence that you are putting forth your best effort in the course
Since this is a support class, all assignments have equal value. We will be completing a support notebook, completing practice worksheets, working in Aleks, and some online assessments to help prepare them for their Geometry class.
Also, their will not be a semester exam for this class. The semester grade is the grade in Infinite Campus.
Each semester grade determines if you will receive a half-credit. First and second semester grades do not average to determine if you pass or fail the course.
Students may take missing assignments within 10 days after returning to school. After 10 days, the original grade will remain a missing grade. This will affect their overall final grade for the semester.
Do all of the needed assignments promptly; do not fall behind.
Do your assignments in a neat and organized manner.
Choose to have a positive attitude. It is the one thing you can control.
Ask questions until you fully understand the material. You are the only one who truly knows if you understand.
