Band Director
Mr. Carver is returning this year as band director at Harlem high school. Prior to coming to HHS, he served as the percussion teacher/Instructor for The Augusta University Music Conservatory for two years, The percussion coordinator and assistant marching band director at Grovetown High School for eight years, percussion technician at Greenbrier High school for one year and the Music teacher at Westmont Elementary school for three years. Mr. Carver has played percussion since the age of five and was featured on his first professional recording at the age of seven. He has performed with several music artists through out his performing career. He is a graduate of Augusta State University where he participated in Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Orchestra, percussion ensemble and pep band. Mr. Carver participated in the Georgia All-College band both his junior and senior years. Mr. Carver is a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association and the Percussive Arts Society. Mr. Carver was also the recipient of the 2022/23 STAR teacher award and nominated for Music Educator of the Year from the Grammy Music Foundation. Mr. Carver lives in Augusta with his beautiful wife Ashley Lauren Carver, daughter Harper Jean Carver and dog Max.
Low Brass Instructor
Jacob is a talented musician who shares his knowledge and passion for music. A recent graduate of the David L. Walters department of Music at Jacksonville State University. He has performed with the JSU Marching Southerners, Atlanta CV drum and Bugle Corps and the 7 time World Champion "The Cavaliers" Drum and Bugle Corps. Jacob will be pursuing his Masters degree in the fall at the University of Georgia.
Amanda Douglas
Color Guard Instructor
Ms. Douglas is a social studies teacher at Harlem High School. She is a graduate of Evans High School where she was a member of the color guard from 2006-2009. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Teaching at Augusta University. When she is not cheering for her students, Ms. Douglas can be found hiking with her fiancé and their two dogs.
Jackson McNair
Woodwind Instructor
Jackson is a growing musician who loves all aspects of music. He is currently studying music at Augusta University where he performs with the AU singers, Wind Ensemble and Opera Initiative. He has also performed in the "Singing Christmas Tree" at Abilene Baptist church in Martinez Georgia for the past five years.
Nathan Brown
High Brass Instructor
Nathan is a talented and versatile musician. He is currently pursuing a BM in Music Education from Augusta University. Nathan has performed with the AU Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Jaguar Pep band and the trumpet studio. He actively participates in both GMEA and SCBDA. Nathan plans on getting his graduate degree from the University of South Carolina in conducting after graduation.
Abigail Burdette
Woodwind Instructor
Abby is studying Music at Augusta University. She is currently earning a BA in music. Abby plays the flute, Piccolo and Saxophone. She is a performing member of the AU Wind ensemble, Orchestra, Jazz band and pep band. She is a graduate of Harlem high school.
Indian Barkley
Percussion/Front Ensemble
Indian is a graduate of Evans High school where she was part of the EHS Marching Knights. Indian is currently pursuing a BM in Music Education at Augusta University. She has performed with the AU Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and percussion Studio.
Jarrett Poole
Percussion/ Battery Tech
Jarrett is a talented musician. He is a graduate of Harlem high school. While at Harlem JT performed in the Drumline, Wind Ensemble, Jazz band, pep band and the percussion ensemble. He has performed in the University of Georgia Jan-Fest honor band the past two years.
