Curtis Carver

Band Director

Mr. Carver is returning this year as band director at Harlem high school. Prior to coming to HHS, he served as the percussion teacher/Instructor for The Augusta University Music Conservatory for two years, The percussion coordinator and assistant marching band director at Grovetown High School for eight years, percussion technician at Greenbrier High school for one year and the Music teacher at Westmont Elementary school for three years. Mr. Carver has played percussion since the age of five and was featured on his first professional recording at the age of seven. He has performed with several music artists through out his performing career. He is a graduate of Augusta State University where he participated in Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Orchestra, percussion ensemble and pep band. Mr Carver participated in the Georgia All-College band both his junior and senior years. Mr Carver is a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association and the Percussive Arts Society. Mr. Carver lives in Augusta  with his beautiful wife Ashley Lauren Carver and daughter Harper Jean Carver.


Patrick Williams

Percussion Staff

Patrick Williams is a percussionist from Grovetown, GA and is currently completing a music education degree at Augusta University. He has also studied percussion performance under Percussionist Ivan Trevino and jazz drumset and vibraphone under Wycliffe Gordon. Additionally, Mr. Williams has had the opportunity to learn composition techniques from Bret Kuhn, Cliff Walker, Jeff Prosperie, Ralph Hardimon, and Mike McIntosh.

Mr. Williams has performed with groups that have toured all across the United States. Such musical groups include: Augusta University’s Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Jazz Band, the Aiken Civic Orchestra, World Class Equinox Percussion, Open Class Southwind drum and bugel corp, World Class Music City drum and bugel corp, and 7 time DCI World Class Champion The Cavaliers drum and bugel corp. 

When he is not assisting the band, Mr. Williams enjoys cooking and writing/arranging music.

David Courreges

Low Brass Instructor

David is a lifelong musician who shares his knowledge and passion for music. A 2000 graduate of the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University, with an undergraduate degree in Recording and Music production. He has worked as both a performer and engineer for his entire adult life. Known to his students as "Mr. David", he reside in Harlem where he lives with his family. He also recommends that everyone makes time to attend at least one performance of "A Tuba Christmas" in their lifetime.

Amanda Douglas

Color Guard Instructor

Ms. Douglas is a social studies teacher at Harlem High School. She is a graduate of Evans High School where she was a member of the colorguard from 2006-2009. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Teaching at Augusta University. When she is not cheering for her students, Ms. Douglas can be found hiking with her boyfriend and their two dogs.
