In accordance with a recent policy change within our county, if you plan to drive a student who is not your own child to a GMS athletic game, match, or meet, please complete the following steps:
1. Complete Required Paperwork (Level 1&2): Download, print, and fill out the paperwork packet provided. This paperwork must be submitted to the school along with a copy of your current driver’s license and automobile insurance card. Thank you for complying with the Columbia County BOE transportation policy.
2. Obtain a Background Check (Level 3): If you are volunteering for the school and have been requested to complete a level 3 background check (drivers and chaperones), details on information will be provided below. This background check is a digitally run Criminal History check and must be conducted every school year as required by Board Policies.
Be advised, that all level 3 checks must also have levels 1 and 2 run at the school your child attends.

When: We are open 7 am to 3 pm, Monday – Friday (except school holidays) for background checks.
Please make sure that you have your current driver's license. You will fill out the consent form at our Headquarters. We have notaries on staff and will notarize your background check at headquarters. There is no cost for either the background check or notarization.
