Meet the Teacher

Hello! My name is Travis Sims and I am so excited the be the ESOL Teacher at Brookwood! I was born and raised in Athens, GA (GO DAWGS), but I also love the Clemson Tigers. I moved to Augusta to attend Augusta State University, where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning, and Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have been teaching for 15th years and have experience in First, Second, and Fourth Grades. This will be my 8th year teaching ESOL and 7th here at Brookwood. It’s going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and adventures and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us.
