Welcome to EGMUN Fall 2025!
This will be the fourth annual Model United Nations conference hosted by Evans and Grovetown High Schools. EGMUN is an opportunity for delegates to attend an affordable local conference in order to experience MUN for the first time or to hone their skills for collegiate competitions.
Delegates can access the conference schedule and their background guides from this webpage. The chairs' and co-chairs' email addresses will be available in the background guide. Chairs will review parliamentary procedure at the beginning of the conference, but delegates can use the resources below to prepare in advance.

General Assembly Background Guide
The General Assembly is a double delegation beginner committee.
The General Assembly (GA) is the main body of the United Nations. The General Assembly itself is split into six different committees, all with different focuses.
This year's GA will represent the First Committee, the committee on Disarmament and International Security (DISEC). This committee was created to help ensure international peace, security, as well as disarmament.

The specialized committee is a single delegation intermediate committee.
This year's specialized committee is the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS). COPUOS works towards ensuring the safe exploration and development of the resources beyond our atmosphere.

Security Council is a single delegation advanced committee.
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is the sole enforcing body of the United Nations (UN). It has 15 member states. The Permanent Five, Russia, China, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom, hold veto power, meaning that if any one of these member states votes no on a resolution, it immediately fails. The other 10 members are elected by the General Assembly for two-year terms.

The crisis is a single delegation intermediate committee.
This year's crisis is a historical crisis set in Italy during the late Middle Ages. Delegates' goal in this committee will be to etch their character's name in history as the most influential part of an already grand period.
