Class Rules
All students are expected to adhere to the Columbia County Code of Conduct and the Grovetown High School Honor Code at all times.

We will utilize class sets of textbooks for this course. You will not check out a book individually in
the Media Center for World Geography. When we use the textbook, your teacher will check it out to you for the class period.
Course Calendar
Calendars and course pacing will be posted on Google Classroom. Please be sure and check
Google Classroom frequently for posted announcements, and for quiz and test dates!
Supplies
Students are expected to come to class with the following resources:
Two #2 pencils or black/blue pens
One three-ring binder with college-ruled notebook paper
Grades
Tests, quizzes, and projects will be graded on a weighted category scale.
Formative assignments (quizzes and classwork): 40%
Summative Assessments (tests): 60%
Semester grade calculation
Q1: 40%
Q2: 40%
Semester Exam: 20%
A = 100 to 90
B = 89 to 80
C = 79 to 73
D = 72 to 70
F = 69 and below
There is no benchmark or EOC exam for this course.
Tutoring
Tutoring sessions will be available with your teacher upon request. Please check with your
teacher regarding their tutoring schedule.
My tutoring schedule will be Tuesdays and Thursdays after school or during Warrior Period (C Lunch).
Retakes
If you are not satisfied with the grade you received on a quiz or unit test, you need to schedule a
time with your teacher to do a retake assessment.
Retake Requirements for World Geography:
- Completed guided notes for the unit
- Completed map for the unit
- Additional requirements may be posted/announced on Google Classroom
