Student Assessment Formats:
Summative (Test/Projects),
Formative (Quizzes/In class assignments)
Benchmarks
Format for Classwork Assignments:
Classwork is any assignment that is given during academic class time. Classwork assignments are due at the end of the class period. Classwork that is not finished by the end of the period must be completed at home and submitted at the beginning of the next class period (some exceptions apply).
Formative/Summative Assessments
Formative assessments are used to help guide my teaching. These assessments are brief and highly specific, typically covering one to two standards. Formative assessments are the same as a quiz grade. Summative assessments indicate which standards students have mastered in a unit and which specific standards may require re-teaching.
Make-up Work:
When a student is absent, he/she will be allowed to complete missed assignments, per the student handbook guidelines. IT IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO OBTAIN ALL MISSED NOTES, HANDOUTS, ASSIGNMENTS, AND/OR RESCHEDULE TESTS AND QUIZZES WITH TEACHERS.
Tutoring:
Students are encouraged to attend after-school tutoring from 2:40 until 3:30. Date TBD. I must have a 24-hour notice. It is the student’s responsibility to secure transportation home at 3:30.
Reteach/Retest:
Students may choose to attend Level Up or Tutoring in order to retest on the concepts that were not mastered. It is the student’s responsibility to schedule the re-teaching/retesting with the teacher.
Student/Parent Portal:
Students and parents can access grades through the portal.
Parent Conferences:
Please email or call to request a parent conference. Due to school duties, some days are not available. We will make every effort to work with your schedule.
Discipline:
Students are expected to follow the Columbia County Code of Conduct. Consequences for not following the Code of Conduct are reflected in the school’s Progressive Discipline Plan.
Google Classroom:
All class work is posted to Google Classroom. It is the student’s responsibility to check Google Classroom for their missing classwork and or assignments if they are absent. Students will be automatically enrolled by the teacher.
There are no wrong answers or stupid questions! I want everyone to feel welcome in my classroom, to have a fun time, be relaxed, and get 1% better every day on any aspect in life. If you get 1% better in the classroom or just life that day, then we succeeded!
My #1 Rule: Everyone will show each other respect in my classroom. No one is higher or should think that they are better than anyone! If we can follow this then we can all get along and have a fun, chill, relaxed learning atmosphere.
