Course Overview: Physical science is a course containing content and topics related to chemistry and physics. The course is designed to cover chemistry topics in the first semester, and then switching gears to physics content in the second semester. The class is designed to focus on key concepts, critical thinking, patterns and inferring relationships between topics. Therefore, computational (math-related) standards for this course are not the focus. The unit overview will look like this:
Atomic Theory and Periodic Table
Bonding
Chemical Reactions
Nuclear Decay
Matter
Solutions and Solubility
Acids and Bases
1D Motion
Newton’s Laws of Motion
Work & Simple Machines
Heat & Energy
Waves
Electricity & Magnetism
