Tryouts for the 2026-2027 Football Cheer Squads will be:

March 23-25, 2026

3:15p-5:00p

2. Squad Types and Team Number

   1. JV Football - rising 9th and 10th graders - looking to take 10-12 members

   2. Varsity Football - rising 10th, 11th, 12th graders - looking to take 20 members

   3. Gameday Competition - rising 9th - 12th graders - 24-28 members

   4. You can cheer for both football and basketball OR you can cheer for just football or just basketball

3. Tryout Information

   1. Football Squads Tryouts - March 23-25, 2026 - 3:15pm - 5:00pm - HHS Gym and Commons Area

      1. Cheerleaders are allowed to leave after their group performs on the final tryout day

      2. Results will be posted by tryout numbers on the evening of March 26th on the HHS Cheer Tryouts 26/27 BAND group and HHS Cheer Webpage

4. What are judges looking for?

   1. Jumps, motions, dance, cheer and chants, knowledge of material, attitude, voice, SPIRIT/CONFIDENCE, and leadership

   2. Tumbling is not required but highly encouraged

5. Paperwork for Tryouts

   1. Up to date Physical

   2. Athletic Packet (Must print off of HHS Athletics Website or get a packet from a coach)

   3. Interest Form (google form) completed - this tells us which teams you are wanting to try out for

   4. All paperwork is due by FRIDAY, MARCH 20!

6. Football Squads - Cheerleading Information and Expectations 

   1. Passing 6/7 classes

   2. Be an AMBASSADOR

      1. Behavior (internet is included)

      2. No profanity, drugs, alcohol or tobacco

      3. Social Media (posts, stories-EVEN PRIVATE STORIES, language, pictures, song lyrics)

   3. Community Service (10 hours by the end of the season)

      1. Reading to elementary schools

      2. Field day help

      3. Open house/pre planning/moving classrooms

   4. Be punctual

   5. Communication!!!
