AP Capstone Information
AP Capstone™ is an innovative diploma program that helps students stand out in the college admission process by developing the critical skills needed to succeed in college and in life.
Two courses — AP® Seminar and AP Research — allow students to immerse themselves in topics that matter to them while developing the analytic, research, problem-solving, and communication skills that colleges seek in their applicants. This challenging program helps students deepen their passion for learning, gives greater confidence in academic skills, and provides a broader perspective on the world.
An Introduction to the AP Capstone Program at Lakeside High School
The video covers the AP Capstone Diploma, AP Seminar and Research Certificate, and the AP Seminar (taken during 11th Grade) and AP Research (taken during 12th Grade) courses.
AP Seminar and Research Certificate:
Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in both of the AP Capstone courses but not on the four additional AP Exams will receive the AP Seminar and Research Certificate TM, signifying successful performance in those courses.
AP Capstone Diploma:
Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in both of the AP Capstone courses and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing will receive the AP Capstone Diploma TM.
