Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading incentive program for students in grades 1-12. The purpose is simply to encourage students to read good books and have fun competing with peers. Students work in teams of 3-4 people to read and study a set of 8 books. Each grade level has a different set of books.
All participants are asked to read and study all books for their grade. We have planned meetings once a month starting in September. All participants will battle at the building level competition in the spring. The winning teams will advance to the regional finals.
To learn more about the program and see which books will be at the center of this year's competition, check out the Battle of the Books page put together by the O²CM BOCES School Library System team.
