End of the 3rd Quarter is April 12!

Students are working hard to get missing work in and those who have are celebrating with Mustang Madness this Thursday. There will be a concession fundraiser so kids may bring money to purchase snacks.

This year the Night at the Museum is an opportunity for Millicoma students to show us their interests while we help s/he understand how to research and share their results while gaining public speaking skills.

Most classes last grading day is this Thursday. Please check Parentvue and help your child have a successful year by making it a habit to review what's been done and what needs to be done!

2018 Winter 7^th Grade Conferences

****All Rubik's Cube borrowers must return by Tuesday, January 30! NO later than Thursday or you may incur a $10.00 fine!****

The 7^th Grade Team will be holding conferences next week, Wednesday January 31st and Thursday February 1st here at Millicoma School in the library.

These conferences will provide an opportunity for students to reflect upon their successes so far this year and to provide you with examples of what they have learned in each of the academic areas. We emphasize that these are student-led conferences—please bring your child to participate. There will be an opportunity to talk with teachers immediately after the student led-conference.

Since these conferences follow the end of our first semester, we will hand out formal report cards to parents and guardians at the conferences. If you are unable to attend conferences, your child’s report card will be mailed home the first full week of February.

We have not assigned specific times or dates. Instead, please plan on spending about 30 minutes, and drop by with your child for their student-led conference during any of the dates/times below:

Wednesday January 31^st 2:00-4:00pm and 4:45-7:00pm

Thursday February 1^st 1:15-4:00pm and 4:45-7:00pm

Invierno 2018 Conferencias de 7 ° Grado

Queridos padres/Guardianes::

Los maestros de 7 grado van a ofrecer conferencias la próxima semana, el miércoles 31 de enero y el jueves 1 de febrero aquí en la escuela Millicoma en la biblioteca.

Estas conferencias brindarán una oportunidad para que los estudiantes reflexionen sobre sus éxitos en lo que va de año y para proporcionarles ejemplos de lo que han aprendido en cada una de las áreas académicas. Hacemos decidido que estas conferencias son dirigidas por los estudiantes. Por favor, traiga a su hijo para que participe. January 2018

Next week is conference week! Monday , Tuesday, and Wednesday are normal day schedule and the last chance to retake tests or turn in work. That Thursday, January 25th, students will have the opportunity to partake in Mustang Madness. In order to participate the child must be passing all classes and have no referrals. This time will be the last effort to help the students who aren't passing to study or retake a final exam. The following week as we transition from January to February is a regular Monday and Tuesday with a 'Friday' schedule on Wednesday and Thursday, January 31 and February 1st. We hope to see you there!

This month is flying by with the end of the semester a week from today! Please check StudentVue and keep updated on the latest changes in your child's progress. The teachers have given your child the opportunity to make up missed work.

The classes are working on how to have academic discourse and many students are rising to the occasion. They will have an opportunity to research a topic of interest with our Night at the Museum, a projects based approach to learning! Look for more details this February.

New News: Socks for Seniors is the donation drive this week. If your family can send in a package of socks for seniors our Mustang team will be delivering! Homeroom classes are collecting!

7th Grade Penmanship Contest

Penmanship Counts: Cursive writing pride!

Students may submit a favorite quote (2-3 sentences), passage from a book, or a poem.

They may pick from fancy pencils and erasers! One entry per person. All entries to be displayed

on 7th Grade wall in the hall!

*Dressing up is optional

*Costumes must be practical, safe, respectful and MODEST (no bare shoulders, back, midriff, etc.)

*Costumes must not prohibit recess and PE play and movement

*NO masks or hoodies are permitted

*NO pretend (or real) weapons

*All make-up face paint, etc. must be applied at home

*As with the dress code, students’ costumes which are unacceptable will be asked to change or will be required to call home for appropriate clothing.

Week of October 12-16

Homework Help

Homework in grade 7 is necessary this year. However, the idea of homework is changing. We would like to see 100% participation in class and what doesn't get finished is then homework. It is a time to review today's lessons and organize that big binder. The end of the 1st quarter is approaching and all make-up tests and assignments must be completed by November 2nd! Did you know that there is a 1-800 number to call for math help? Your grade 7 math student will be bringing that phone number home this week.

The grade 7 team has revisited our homeroom time after the conferences and we will be checking planners for parent signatures twice a week in our homeroom (8th period) classes! That is also the time to complete classwork and prepare for tests or review to do your best each day.
