Welcome to the 2023 IHSSA speech season!

ABOUT US:

Speech is an extracurricular activity through the Iowa High School Speech Association open to all (academically eligible) 9-12th grade students. Speech involves two seasons: Large Group, which consists of group performance activities (and solo mime) and Individual Events, which consists of individual performance opportunities. Students are able to choose to participate in one or both seasons. Contests for Large Group are in January and February, contests for Individual Events are in February, March and sometimes the beginning of April.

Practices are after school, a couple of times a week, though some work will be done on students' own time as well.
