The Human Services Committee extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, Community Board Members, and partner organizations who made the Addiction Forum a success. A special thanks to our venue host, the East Harlem Community Partnership, for providing a welcoming space for this impactful event.
Attendance:
50 individuals signed in on the attendance sheet, with over 20 students present.
More than 15 partner organizations collaborated with the Human Services Committee, and more than 20 organizations were represented throughout the event.
As part of our continued efforts, we are conducting a comprehensive analysis to better understand the impact of addiction and to develop actionable strategies for our community. This includes:
Medical Analysis: Understanding the personal and public health risks associated with substance use.
Cultural Analysis: Examining how addiction uniquely affects BIPOC communities in East Harlem.
Social Analysis: Assessing the socioeconomic impact of addiction on residents and businesses in East Harlem.
Accountability Analysis: Identifying gaps in existing support systems and areas for improvement.
