other: Social Studies, Science, art

During many instructional days there will be time set aside for science, social studies, and art. During this time students will be exploring these subjects in a hands-on and experimental manner.

Science:

The science topics that we will be covering this year include: Bats, Pumpkins, Weather, The Five Senses, Space, Animals/Habitats, the Ocean, Insects, and Life Cycles. These topics will be taught using The Next Generation Science Standards which focus on specific science and engineering practices.

Social Studies:

The social studies topics that we will cover this year include: Holidays, Native Americans, Communities, Safety, Responsibility, and Empathy.

Art:

We do art projects that make use of the fine motor skills we are practicing in class (cutting, gluing, painting, coloring etc.) Craft time is also a great time for practice in following directions and sequencing steps to complete an activity. Often these crafts tie into our science/social studies topics.
