What is the difference between Arts in Education and Exploratory Enrichment CoSers?
The Arts in Education CoSer covers engagement in the arts through a variety of opportunities including but not limited to cultural field trips, art/music lessons and performances, museums and art exhibitions.
The Exploratory Enrichment CoSer covers curriculum-based experiences such as science/environmental lectures, site visits/trips, history/civics, physical education, character education, STE(A)M, etc.
We are putting on a musical and would like to hire/pay musicians through Arts in Education – is this possible?
YES! The district will submit an Arts in Education Musician request to BOCES prior to the performance.
After the performance, you will pay the musicians directly and submit an invoice for reimbursement to BOCES.
How do I know which form to use when submitting my request?
You will be attending an arts performance, such as a play at Syracuse Stage – Arts in Education Ticket Request
A performer will be coming to your school directly – Arts in Education Performance Request
We will be taking our students to a museum – Exploratory Enrichment Ticket Request
We will be hosting a science lecture at our school – Exploratory Enrichment Performance Request
Do these CoSers cover the cost of teachers and chaperones?
NO. The cost of adult tickets will need to be paid by the requesting district. BOCES can only pay for student tickets under these CoSers.
When planning with the vendors, who do we need to list as the customer on the contract and invoices?
Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES needs to be listed as the customer on any agreement or invoice.
The district and main contact can be referenced under the end user details.
When should I send my paperwork to BOCES for a request?
As soon as possible – please provide BOCES all required paperwork at least 4 weeks prior to the event to process payment.
