Martin and Mullen, along with Kailynn Rivera, share excitement for their last season.
“I’ve never had a solo in color guard before, so the first time I did I was filled with excitement but also really nervous,” said Mullen. “When it came to the first comp, I was beyond nervous and not confident in myself. I still haven’t dropped my solo at a comp, and I am really happy about it.”
Indoor percussion has also had scoring increases this season, with four competitions participated in and one first place award at Governor Mifflin High School. Earning the title with a score of 76, the group saw a five-point jump to achieve this goal. Seniors Owen Dungan and Anessa Rodriguez have a duet on piano and electric bass guitar in the song “Diamonds are Forever.” Rodriguez also has a featured vocal solo in “Skyfall.”
