2022 Prom Dress Code and Guidelines
Heritage High School
April 23rd, 2022 from 7:00-11:00 pm at the Collegedale Commons
Prom is a formal and special night for Heritage juniors/seniors and their approved guests. We hope to maintain the integrity and formality of this night by implementing this simple dress code.
Guidelines for dresses
* Dresses may be strapless or include spaghetti straps.
* Dresses may be backless as long as they are not cut below the navel.
* 2-piece dresses may not have a bare midriff which exceeds 1 inch.
* Dresses may not have a slit that exceeds mid-thigh. This is fingertip length.
* Dresses should be cut above the bust line. If your dress is not cut above the bust line, you must seek prior approval.
*Undergarments should not be visible. See-through apparel is not permitted. Garments that are tight or low-cut are also unacceptable.
Guidelines for dress suits/tuxedos
Formal prom attire may be classified as a tuxedo or dress suit, including a tie, bow tie, a turtle neck, a dress shirt, which may include a vest or cummerbund. Shirts are to be worn at all times. Do not wear an athletic cap to the prom.
Students should wear dress shoes for this formal occasion however athletic shoes (such as Converse) may be worn. Casual sandals and flips flops should not be worn.
If you have questions concerning your clothing, it is your responsibility to seek prior approval from Mrs. Lann, Dr. Kemp. or Mrs. Handy. If you arrive in clothing which does not fit the guidelines, then you will not be allowed to enter.
If you are bringing a guest from another school, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make them aware of our dress code policy.
THINGS TO REMEMBER
Once the student leaves the prom facility and or grounds, he/she will not be permitted to re-enter. In case of an emergency, staff, security personnel, or administrators can accompany a student(s) to and from his/her car.
Only approved faculty, chaperones on the list, students and their guests with prom tickets will be allowed into the prom.
The student code of conduct must be adhered to during the prom. Students or guests in possession of tobacco, vaping device, alcohol, illegal substances, or anything prohibited in the student code of conduct will be removed from the event. All school rules apply and students who break school rules are subject to discipline.
Date Approval
∙ HHS Juniors/Seniors may invite one guest to Prom
∙ Guests must be under 21 years of age
∙ Middle School or elementary school students are prohibited from attending
∙ Forms must be approved prior to the purchase of a ticket
∙ Guests must follow Code of Conduct and Prom Dress Code/Guidelines
∙ HHS principal reserves the right to deny permission for any guest
∙ Completed forms must be returned to Mrs. Conely on or before April 14th, 2022.
