Did you know that each of our three high schools have a school greenhouse? Heritage, Lakeview, and Ringgold all have greenhouses and each host numerous plant sales throughout the year.
These hands on learning labs are used as a real world setting for students enrolled in Basic Agriculture Science, General Horticulture/Plant Science, and Floriculture Production and Management.
Money made from these plant sales go directly to funding the local programs and activities they do both with the greenhouse and FFA. Check out each school's offerings!
Greenhouses
Greetings from the greenhouse!
Each Spring, our high school agriculture programs dedicate time, a couple of chilly walks, and quite a bit of patience into creating something really unique for our agriculture students and our community. Catoosa is not known for its agricultural landscape and many of our students haven’t stepped foot on a farm, let alone a greenhouse until they come into our programs. Maybe it’s the ag teacher in me that gets sentimental about planting a bunch of plants, but something special happens around that potting table each spring. There are no barriers that divide when hands are in the dirt. No judgment when there are thousands of plugs and sprouts to be transplanted. Take a look at what our programs offer, shop for your favorites, and know that you are supporting something good.
Plant Something,
