This four-session elective invites participants to explore the rich history and cultural legacy of the Catholic Church in Singapore. Through engaging discussions and a guided pilgrimage to historical sites (PIMBY), catechists will deepen their appreciation of the Church’s local roots and reflect on their personal faith journey.
The course also encourages the creation of prayer spaces that honour Singapore’s Catholic heritage, bridging past and present in meaningful ways.

Grounded in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and Amoris Laetitia, the course introduces five key strategies for virtue-based catechesis. This workshop equips catechists and parents to form others in the human and theological virtues through practical strategies and faith-based resources.
Participants will learn how to foster virtuous habits and moral growth, use positive, life-giving language, set respectful and clear boundaries, support others in spiritual and moral decision-making and its ideal for anyone involved in catechesis or faith formation.

This course introduces the Church’s vision and method of teaching, blending essential theory with hands-on practice. Catechists will discover the aim and purpose of catechesis, explore the pedagogy of God, and gain insights into how faith is handed on across different age groups.
Through practical training—using the Catechism of the Catholic Church, crafting reflection questions, and engaging in prayer space presentations—participants will build the skills and confidence to bring the faith alive in their sessions.

“Youth want a community to belong to,” said Fr Terence Kesavan. “They need a space where they can freely share new ways of doing things in church, meet other young people, and exchange life and faith experiences.”
