Class overview:
This course focuses on career awareness and exploration into the world of work with an emphasis placed on developing self-awareness, understanding the workforce, and initiating the career planning process. Topics in this course include, but are not limited to, the development of essential skills, relationship and teamwork building, personal management, successful communication and work-based skills needed in the world of work. This course is enhanced by project and work based learning opportunities through the utilization of a wide range of technology tools and skills found in the workforce inclusive of Chromebook/Computer applications, interactive and simulated career activities, 3D Design and Printing, Robots, Drones, Coding/Programming, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.
Class overview:
This course focuses on the nature of business and entrepreneurial skills in an international economy. An emphasis is placed on the study of related careers in fields such in financial services, information technology, marketing, office systems technology, public relations and promotion, and travel and tourism. Topics in this course include computer applications used in these careers along with problem solving and thinking skills. This course contributes to the development of a career development plan (4 year plan). This course is enhanced by project and work based learning opportunities through the utilization of a wide range of technology tools and skills found in the workforce inclusive of Chromebook/Computer applications, interactive and simulated career activities, 3D Design and Printing, Robots, Drones, Coding/Programming, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.
