Learning Objectives

Overall Objective: Participants will gain exposure to the science of reading and how blended learning provides increased opportunities and flexibilities to deliver the components of effective reading instruction in accordance with the science of reading.

    • Dispel entrenched myths regarding the science of reading

    • Explore the science of reading including the current and historical proficiency of our students

    • Explore the components of effective reading instruction and which activities are most effective and efficient for developing the five components of reading

    • Reflect on the refinements we can make to the reading student experience based on our understanding of the reading science; build a blended classroom prototype
