I have been a nurse for many years and worked in all areas. This would be my 3rd time being a school nurse. I have been at Stoney Creek Elementary since December 2025 and have met some unique students. I hope to spend many years here. I chose to come back to school nursing because I feel that at this point in life I have more to give. Students need attention and love in the school setting. It does my heart good to see them smiling and waving and speaking when they see me.
My family consists of my husband (Mel), 2 daughters (Mellotta & Erika), a bonus daughter (Margaret), 3 sons (Mel Jr - deceased, Erik & Sherrard) and my Maltipoo (Dora). They’re all adults which gives us plenty of grands and great grands to love and spoil. And believe me, I take that seriously and do a lot of spoiling.
I like to travel when I can take my dog, who is the baby of the family, with me. I enjoy spending time with my family and especially my grandchildren. As the saying goes, “If I had known they were going to be this much fun. I would have had them first.” I love gardening and sunflowers are my favorite. Sunflowers are beautiful and set their brown faces to face the sun and make me smile.

Meet Nurse Hayden
Hi! I’m Haley, and I’m excited to be part of Stoney Creek and to join such a wonderful team of nurses within Caswell County Schools. I’ve been a nurse for 8 years, with experience in emergency nursing, cardiothoracic care, home health, maternal-fetal medicine, and case management, with the ER always holding a special place in my heart.
I’m a Caswell County native and proud to have attended local schools from elementary through Piedmont Community College. Being able to give back to the same community that helped shape me means so much.
I’m married and fun fact, I actually met my husband right here in Caswell County. We have four wonderful kiddos, a 9 year old who loves hunting and fishing, a sassy 4 year old, and 6 month old twins. My faith and family are the foundation of everything I do. When I’m not at school you’ll likely find me chasing my kids around, spending time with my family, wishing I was at the beach, or cheering on UNC basketball (Go Heels!).
I chose school nursing because I believe every child deserves a safe, supportive place and someone they can trust. I hope to be a listening ear, a comforting presence, and an advocate so students feel healthy, supported, and ready to learn.
