All About Me

Meet Nurse Miller

I have been a school nurse for Caswell County Schools for almost 3 years, joining South Elementary in September, 2020. I grew up in Caswell County, graduated from Bartlett Yancey High School, and continue to be a resident of this great county. I graduated from Piedmont Community College with an Associates Degree in Allied Health Science in Nursing, became a Registered Nurse in 1999, and worked at the Children's Hospital in Richmond, VA for many years. I have been a nurse for 24 years and caring for children has always been my passion. I have also worked in plastic surgery, operating room, family practice, and community health care. I am currently a student at the University of North Carolina- Wilmington in the RN to BSN Program and will be graduating in 2023 with my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. I am happily married to my best friend of 25 years and we have a beautiful 14 year old daughter, along with 3 dogs and 2 ducks. I enjoy refurbishing old treasures, spending time at the beach or by the pool, and I love being a school nurse.

Why School Nursing?

Nursing is an ever changing profession with many opportunities. As a school nurse, I get to protect and promote student health, aid in their optimal development, and help encourage academic success. Having a positive impact on a child can make lasting memories. It is very rewarding to see smiling children each day!
