Tena koe. My name is Sarah Lourie and I am originally from South Wairarapa.

I have taught in Whanganui for 25+ years. I am from a farming background but now live at Kai Iwi beach where I enjoy longline fishing and walking with my dogs. I have three grown up children - two sons and a daughter.

Last year I took a break from permanent employment and completed a Post Graduate Diploma via Waikato University in Information Technology in Education.

I am excited to get back into the classroom and to share my new knowledge and skills with the Year 5 and 6 students of Toiora.

I believe in empowering students to be 21st century learners who are self managing, inquisitive and able to adapt to the world’s ever changing challenges while still being true to themselves and their whanau values.
