Inquiry Science & Sense Making
Inquiry science is an investigative approach to teaching and learning science concepts that leads to asking questions, making discoveries, and testing those discoveries in the search for new understanding.
Inquiry science starts with a focus question that may be provided by the curriculum, or may be generated by students themselves (sometimes called a key question, essential question). A focus question is a compelling question that leads to investigating a problem, asking questions, planning, gathering and analyzing data, and building explanations in answer to that question.
