No entrance fee - it's free!
We will be holding the event at the Hawaii State Library (on King Street) on February 21, 2026 from 10am-2pm.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer that for this year's inaugural event. Offering food would require an entirely separate set of licensing and regulations to follow. HOWEVER, if this event is well attended and it becomes annual, we can certainly look into that for next year if there's high interest.
All ages! We will have children's programming, adult programming, and plenty of chances to meet with local writers, illustrators, and small presses.
Join the fun to enter into our FREE giveaways! We will have prizes and raffles are all no purchase necessary.
The Raffles: Stop by the welcome table to get your free raffle ticket for the drawings! We will have four drawings: at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, and 1:30pm. The raffle bags will all be worth over $150.00 in retail value and will include the following themes:
10:30am-Kanak Attack (filled with local snacks)
11:30am-Writer's Toolkit (filled with stylish and helpful tools for writing)
12:30pm-Treat Yourself (filled with self-care items like Korean facemasks, scented lotions, candles - the goodies you need to relax and enjoy your new books).
1:30pm-Local Faves (filled with items from local companies, including Aloha Collection, Coop Monsters, Meli Wraps, You Made This For Me, MSN J Arts, and more!)

Scavenger Hunt Prizes: Join the fun and match the clues on your card to the authors at the festival! Once your card is full, you'll have a great momento with autographs and stickers/stamps. Bring your completed card back to the welcome table for a prize! (prizes vary and are limited. Limit one scavenger hunt card per Adult, Keiki complete with adults).
No! But if you are a state resident, you can bring proof of residency and get your FREE library card at the event. This will open up a world of new and free events and resources to you!
We will have Keiki Storytimes happening from 10:05am-12:15pm. Older keiki may also enjoy participating in the scavenger hunt, but adults must accompany them, as some authors in the scavenger hunt are on the second floor with adult-focused content.
Tweens and Teens interested in writing may enjoy the publishing and writing panels. The book clubs are a good option for older readers as well.
We will have book readings and Q & A with authors throughout the festival. The scavenger hunt, book clubs, and panels are also great events for adults!
