Chris Pulliam, PhD, was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. Chris earned B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). His dissertation work focused on the development of an intuitive myoelectric command interface that would allow multiple joints of a transradial prosthesis to be controlled in a highly coordinated fashion. Dr. Pulliam spent ten years in the medical device industry prior to returning to academia. He worked for Great Lakes NeuroTechnologies, in Cleveland, OH, where his research focused on wearable systems for monitoring patients with movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease. He then worked for Medtronic in its Neuromodulation division, where his work focused on physiological sensing applications in deep brain stimulation (DBS) for movement disorders and spinal cord stimulation (SCS) for chronic pain. In 2022, Dr. Pulliam moved back to CWRU to join the Case School of Engineering faculty.
We seek graduate students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the interface of data science, rehabilitation and neuromodulation. Please direct all inquires to Professor Pulliam. Note that the priority deadline for admission to the Ph.D. program for summer / fall 2023 admission is Jan 10th, 2023.
Undergraduate students interested in conducting research with us should contact Professor Pulliam. We seek highly motivated students who are willing to commit to a minimum of 2 semesters and about 4-6 hours/week of research beginning Spring 2023.
