International Leadership

Dr. Ko organized and co-chaired the first International Solid State Sensors and Actuators Conference, at Boston, 1981; chaired the third International Sensors and Actuators Conference, at Philadelphia, 1985, and chaired the International Steering Committee of this conference series from 1983 to 1987. He co-chaired the 3rd International Meeting on Chemical Sensors, at Cleveland, Ohio; 1990 and was the Chairman of the first International Steering Committee of international Meetings on Chemical Sensors series from 1990 to 1992. He organized and was the president of the Transducer Research Foundation, Inc., from 1987 to 2004, that runs the prestigious Hilton Head Solid State Sensors and Actuator Workshop and support international conferences on Transducers and MEMS by offering travel assistantships to students.
