After a long silence, here are the biggest news from the last couple of years in reverse chronological order.
July 2017: Was awarded a three-year NSF grant titled "Towards accounting for model error in CO2 retrievals from the OCO- satellite".
June 2017: Finished a chapter titled "Estimating trends in ptarmigan numbers" with Olafur Nielsen that will be in the book "Applied raptor ecology: essentials from Gyrfalcon research", with editors D.L. Anderson, C.J.W. McClure, and A. Franke, published by The Peregrine Fund, Boise, Idaho, USA. The chapter extended work we did over ten years ago in Iceland.
June 2017: Gave a talk at the ICSA Applied Statistics symposium in Chicago.
April 2017: Organized and hosted CWRU's first ASA DataFest event (more on that later).
February 2017: Gave a talk at the SIAM conference on Computational Science and Engineering in Atlanta.
October 2016: Was invited to give a talk in the department seminar of the Statistics department at Brigham Young University in Utah. My colleague and good friend Candace Berrett took this picture during the talk :-).
August 2016: My paper with Mark Berliner "A framework for multi-model ensembling" was published in the ASA/SIAM Journal of Uncertainty Quantification. Also, JSM in Chicago
July 2016: Was invited to give a seminar talk at NCAR in Boulder Colorado.
June 2016: ISBA world meeting in Sardinia, Italy.
April 2016: Invited to give a talk at the ENVR/EnviBayes workshop in Columbus, Ohio and went to the SIAM UQ meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland.
January 2016: MCMSki in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
