We are currently recruiting from two groups:
Those who currently work as a guardian ad litem in the state of Ohio,
Parents whose families have been assigned a GAL in Ohio due to divorce. Divorce must have been resolved within the past 5 years.
You will participate in a Zoom (or telephone) interview that will last approximately 60-90 minutes.
During the interview you will be asked a number of questions about your experiences with the Guardian Ad Litem system.
Because your opinions are important to us, the interview will be recorded. Recording the interview will help researchers to correctly document your opinions and experiences. Recording is an integral part of the study; if you do not wish to be recorded, you should not participate in the study.
The records of this research will be kept confidential. Only members of the research team will have access to the records.
Research records will be stored electronically in an encrypted file that is password protected. Recordings will be deleted after transcriptions are checked for accuracy.
Any personal information that could identify you will be removed or changed before files are shared with other researchers or results are made public.
The researcher conducting this study is Dr. Eileen Anderson, at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
You can sign up here. Signing up does not obligate you to participate. You can also contact us for more information at GAL-project@case.edu.
