Two-Hour Delays
All live sessions that normally occur prior to 10:00 AM will be cancelled. We will follow the normal schedule for live sessions beginning at 10:00 AM. Your teachers will notify you if there are any changes to live sessions that normally occur after 10:00 AM.
School Closures
CVA follows the regular CASD calendar for all school days and breaks. There are different categories of school closures:
Emergency Closure (Snow Day) - Schools are closed both online and in-person. While not required, CVA students may log on and complete coursework as if it were a normal school day.
On snow days, the calendar in Edgenuity will be adjusted to show that no assignments are due. Keep in mind that Edgenuity automatically spreads the assignments over the number of days remaining in the marking period. When this calendar adjustment is made, Edgenuity may show a few overdue assignments. Do not stress if this happens. Students will not be penalized if the system changes the dates slightly. Unfortunately, this is just how the learning management systems work.
Flexible Instructional Days (FID Day) – Schools are closed, but all students are expected to complete work virtually. CVA students log on as if it were a normal school day. No live sessions are held, but teachers have scheduled office hours.
Holidays/Breaks - If there is a scheduled day off school, CVA students also have the day off school. These breaks are great opportunities for students to catch up on overdue assignments.
Emergency Instructional Days - Schools are closed, but all students are expected to complete work virtually. CVA students log on as if it were a normal school day. No live sessions are held, but teachers have scheduled office hours.
