What is the objective of this course?
The objective of this course is to provide students with an overview of life science concepts such as cell structure and function, basic genetic processes, ecosystems, and biological evolution.
What will my students learn during this course?
Introduction to Laboratory Safety: this unit will teach students how to properly handle lab materials along with the safety rules that must be followed while performing laboratory procedures.
Molecules to Organisms-Structure and Processes: during this unit, the students will learn and explain the ways in which cells contribute to the function of living organisms.
Heredity-Inheritance and Variation of Traits: during this unit, students will learn and explain how living organisms pass traits from one generation to the next one.
Biological Adaptation-Unity and Diversity: during this unit, students will learn and explain how organisms change over time in response to changes in the environment.
Ecosystems-Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics: during this unit, students will learn and explain how a system of living and nonliving things operate to meet the needs of the organisms in an ecosystem.
