HELLO!
My name is Andrea Meyer, and this is my ninth year teaching science at Cascade School District, I am excited about this new school year.
I love teaching science because it gives me the possibility to spark the light of curiosity in young minds. I enjoy it when I see that my students question and analyze problems and look for solutions. Teaching also keeps me intellectually active and allows me to continue learning, a challenge that I always accept with excitement. As I always tell my students "The questions I enjoy the most are those for which I do not have an immediate answer, because that leads me to learn new things about nature and the science behind it".
MY BACKGROUND
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Science from the University of Concepcion (Chile) with a Major in Biochemistry. I then continued my education and received a Doctorate Degree in Biological Sciences with a Cell and Molecular Biology specialization from the same university. I am also certified as an Idaho Teacher with a Natural Sciences and Biology endorsement.
MY INTERESTS
In my personal time, I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family and friends, watercolor painting, nature sketching, gardening, reading, paddleboarding, and cuddling with my dog and three cats.
