What is the objective of this course?
The objective of this course is to provide students with an overview of common strands in earth science such as astronomy, geology, hydrology & meteorology.
What will my students learn during this course?
Unit 1, Earth’s Place in the Universe-Space Science: this unit will teach students about the overall structure, composition, and history of the universe, the forces and processes by which the solar system operates, and Earth’s planetary history (info obtained from National Academy of Sciences.).
Unit 2, Earth’s Systems-Geologic Processes and History: During this unit, students will learn how the geologic time scale is used to organize Earth’s history, how materials and energy cycle within and among the planet’s systems, and how tectonics processes and rocks and fossils help to understand the history of planet Earth.
Unit 3, Earth’s Systems-Earth’s Water and Atmosphere: this unit will teach students how water influences the weather, the factors that can influence the weather, and how living organisms can impact the Earth.
