Scholarships

The Heron Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to strengthening and sustaining the mission of The Heron Institute and its schools—Cyber Academy of South Carolina and Heron Virtual Academy of South Carolina, is excited to announce the Founders Scholarship! 

The Founders Scholarship will provide four (4) annual scholarships named in honor of our founding board members:

• Jennifer Hincapie

• Sandra Sandifer

• Steve Fowle

• Dr. Wayne Brazell

The scholarships, each worth $1,000, can be renewed up to four years and can be used to cover:

• Two-year or four-year college tuition, fees, and books

• Certification fees for nationally or regionally recognized certification or training programs

Applications are due December 15, 2025, and winners will be notified in March 2026. We will request additional documentation related to enrollment plans with those selected as winners.
