The main characters are Bilbo, the dwarfs, Gandalf, the Wargs, the goblins and the eagles. The wargs and goblins were trying to burn Bilbo, the dwarfs, and Gandalf in the trees. Then the eagles came and saved them.They are running away from the goblins and wargs. The moral of this chapter is always help someone in need because one day they might return the favor. The conflict for Bilbo is he is gaining confidence but he is still weak. The theme of this chapter is out of the frying pan into the fire because they escape the goblins then get found by the wargs. Bilbo finds his friends after escaping the slimy, sickening, goblin tunnels and Gollum. He was still wearing the ring when he found his friends so he could easily sneak up to them. After filling them in with details, they trudged on and of course there had to be a landslide. They saved themselves with trees and ledges. Finally, after a while they come to a clearing, however suddenly wargs(evil wolves) trample into the clearing. The dwarfs, Bilbo, and Gandalf scramble into trees. However, they see and hear goblins coming who set their trees on fire. Luckily, the eagles from the cliffs come to save them only because they hate goblins.
