Kindergarten Ready at Carthage R-9

Kindergarten First Steps

This event is required for all incoming kindergarten students who are NOT currently enrolled in a Carthage R-9 PreK or Tiger Cub Care program. 

Thursday, February 26, 2026   10AM - 7PM   by Appointment  

at the Carthage R-9 Annex Gym & Welcome Center located at 710 Lyon Street 

All screenings are by appointment. Families will be contacted by district staff to schedule an appointment. Please be sure your student has already completed the DIAL assessment with PAT. If you have any questions or need to have your student complete the DIAL assessment call the Parents As Teachers Office at 417-359-7012 or email them at pat@carthagetigers.org. 

Kindergarten First Steps allows families to: 

• have incoming students assessed for kindergarten readiness skills. 

• begin the enrollment process for the 25-26 school year. 

• meet with health staff. 

• get connected with resources and support from Parents as Teachers and district kindergarten staff. 

Please Bring

• Your Student (Student must turn 5 before August 1)

• Birth Certificate or other proof of age (medical records, passport)

• Parent Photo ID (Driver’s License, Passport)

• Immunization Records

• Proof of Residency (such as a utility bill, rent receipt, housing rental or lease agreement; no cell phone bills will be accepted. Must have name of the parent/guardian and show service/physical address.)

• Custody Documentation (if an order is in place)

• February 23: Online Enrollment opens for new-to-the-district families. www.carthagetigers.org
