How can I help prepare you for a successful transition from student to intern or employee?
I can help you by guiding you through the My Aspire Plan (M.A.P.) where you will develop 9 KEY COMPETENCIES otherwise known as key skills most employers want from a recent graduate of college. All the experiences you have at Carthage will prepare you for your career. Using YOUR M.A.P. (My Aspire Plan) to help your keep track and see where you have been and what you have done, allows you to connect the experiences you have with the skills employers are seeking.
What does Competency mean?
NOUN: COMPETENCE (com-pe-tence) - The ability to do something successfully or efficiently.
Look for the competency circles/letters you need!
Michelle Pas joined The Aspire team in 2024 as the career specialist for business and technology, bringing a wealth of experience to Carthage from her long career working in the corporate world. With a background in leading global marketing teams for a variety of high-tech companies, Michelle’s journey took an entrepreneurial turn in 2023, igniting her passion for sharing her knowledge and skills with others.
While she was working on her master’s degree, she discovered her love for career and college counseling. She built on that passion by coaching and mentoring the people she managed.
Her diverse background also includes teaching part-time evening marketing courses as an adjunct professor, training emerging leaders through a comprehensive corporate leadership program (as a stretch project), and serving as a part-time school counselor for a grade school.
Michelle is excited to connect with students and faculty this year, leveraging her corporate experience, entrepreneurial spirit, and counseling expertise to inspire students and help them utilize The Aspire Center’s resources. Her genuine enthusiasm and diverse experience make her a valuable addition to The Aspire team.
