Originally from Richland County, South Carolina, my wife and I moved to northeast Tennessee in 2012. In the past fifteen years since I took my first teaching position, I have held several different jobs (Bethel Christian Camp, Stronghold Gym, Cedar Creek Farms, Mahoney's Outfitters, sawmill) and earned a Master of Arts in English from ETSU in 2021. As an undergrad, I studied English and Humanities at Columbia Bible College (CIU), receiving a Bachelor of Science in 2006. My wife and I have two daughters, who are our pride and joy. Over the years, I have taught 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th grade English as well as freshman English at ETSU. The 2025-2026 school year will be my sixth year teaching and my fourth in Carter County.Â
