About Me
Hello and welcome! My name is Sheri Monteiro, and I am proud to serve as the 7th & 8th Grade English Language Arts Resource Teacher and in-class resource English Teacher at Carteret Junior High School.
I have been part of the Carteret School District for the past eight years, and I’ve worked in education for more than eighteen years in a variety of roles, including main office and guidance secretary, paraprofessional, mentor, and long-term substitute teacher in the Rahway School District. Each of these experiences has shaped who I am as an educator today.
Teaching is truly my passion. I love helping students discover their strengths, set meaningful goals, and find success both in and out of the classroom. Every day, I wake up excited to support my students on their learning journey and to encourage them as they plan for the future. Outside of school, I am a proud mom to two wonderful boys who inspire me daily.
My Education
I grew up in and graduated from Rahway. After graduation, I began my college journey at community college before transferring to Kean University, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a dual bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Special Education, along with a minor in Psychology. I am currently in pursuit of my Master's in Educational Leadership at Montclair University
