Choir Leadership Council
Choir Leadership Council is a group of students representing choir department at CHS. They serve their peers and the community through their respective roles and work to make choir a better place. Read the brief position descriptions below and ask Ms. Gardner any other questions you may have!

Are you looking to further your involvement in the Carteret Choral Department? Look no further! We will be accepting applications for positions for the 2022-23 School Year in Spring 2022! All positions are OPEN.(You must be in be in a full year choral ensemble)

As supplemental material and for all students to have a fair chance, I am asking you to please make a video introducing yourself and expressing why you are best fit for this position. It does not need to be long. Just 30-60 on why you should be the person who gets voted in. This will be posted for others to see.

President/Teaching Assistant- ☆☆☆☆☆
APPOINTED POSITION
Create a positive and enthusiastic environment for all singers
Embodies excellent musicianship skills
Displays excellent leadership skills
Preside over meetings with an organized agenda
Being the main communication between Mr. Jackson and other choir members
Encouraging and holding your choir accountable to expectations (i.e. reminding them of assignments due, sending out concert info, etc.)
Minimum of 1 year of Choir Completed- must be a junior or senior
Basic piano skills
Ability to lead/ conduct choir
Must have a desire to learn more about being an educator or conductor
Vice President-☆☆☆
APPOINTED POSITION
Spearheads Social Affairs within choir
Spearhead fundraising efforts
Plan and organize the Choir Social
Plan and organize the Music Department Picnic
Taking pictures at choir events (such as Fall Festival, Metro St, CU Mad Fest, etc.) and uploading to google photos
Working with other CLC members to plan events pertaining to choir
Minimum of 1 year of Choir Completed- must be a sophomore, junior or senior
Logistics Manager (Varsity Vocals mostly)- ☆☆☆☆
APPOINTED POSITION
Take attendance and keep an accurate record
In charge of enforcing conflict form procedure (Varsity Vocals)
Make sure everyone is on the correct bus at the right time.
Making sure we gather the bus drivers information
Check conflicts that are submitted and submit them to Mr. Jackson for approval
Communicate messages from the VV to the council at large
Get music for people who need it
Possibly lead rehearsal in case Mr. Jackson is absent.
Organize a group of students to volunteer with back stage needs at concerts and events
Arranging volunteers to set-up and break down for the concerts/events
Gather a recording of at least one song from each performance
Must be extremely organized
Must have a strong understanding of Google Sheets
Must be proficient and efficient at administering tasks
Secretary/ Treasurer- ☆☆☆☆
APPOINTED POSITION
Keep an accurate record of notes during Council Meetings
Count and submit monies twice a month.
Collecting forms/ money for T-shirt sales
Issue receipts after payments are made by students
Complete any other duties Mr. Jackson deems necessary for the success of CHS Choir
Must be organized and able to work excel
Social Media and Marketing- ☆☆☆☆
Creating all announcements pertaining to choir, including (but not limited to) announcements for upcoming Choir Concerts, Auditions, Fundraisers, and Singing Grams and getting them approved in the main office
In charge of Choir Twitter Account & Instagram Account
Sharing choir events on Social Media and inviting student body to events
Creating posters for Choir related events
Reach out to local businesses about concerts or events
Assist in the making of the Concert Programs
Working with other CLC members to plan events pertaining to choir (i.e. Cabaret Night, Holiday Tour etc.)
Complete any other duties Mr. Jackson deems necessary for the success of CHS Choir
Must be familiar with social media
Helps to be creative
Experience with photoshop and other forms of media
Recruitment & Retention Chair- ☆☆☆
Spearheading recruitment efforts
Set and execute goals for recruitment of potential choir students
Organize students to be present at the Freshman Orientation
Assist students in getting their schedules changed or welcoming them to the after-school choir
Complete any other duties Mr. Jackson deems necessary for the success of CHS Choir
Choir Manager/ Librarian/ Uniform Manager- ☆☆☆

Number new music
Distributing new music, collecting music, and tabulate fees or fines for missing music.
Keep the Choir Library Database current and up-to-date
Making appropriate number of copies of music.
Updating the uniform database/ inventory.
Making sure uniforms are accounted for.
Distribute new uniforms.

Must be organized and able to work excel

Be incredibly encouraging to other students
Identify sections of music that need work

Organize a minimum of 1 sectionals prior to each concert
